White Porcelain in Tohoku Iwate for Everyday Living

Life in Morioka where the snowy season lasts a long time, snow white is deep into the daily living, sometimes it enfolding warmth of scene, sometimes it is bright and calm.“White” is a part of daily life there.

Returning to my hometown, I experienced the richness of nature and its people through the four seasons. That experience has renewed my impression on the depth of white.Using local straw ashes, I aim to create white porcelain of Tohoku Iwate that is modest but attuned to daily life.
